haplotype

[sujeto]

Genetic sequences that we inherit from only one parent. Haplotypes include sequences from mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and the non-homologous portion of the Y chromosome. They differ from autosomal genes, which are shuffled due to recombination of segments of DNA that transfer, or crossover, between homologous chromosomes during meiosis.
